On the way home from AJ's school, Hubby and I were discussing what he wanted for dinner.
Hubby: "I'm in the mood for sushi."
AJ: "Daddy, what's shooshi?"
Hubby: "It's yummy rice rolls. Maybe someday I'll take you out for sushi."
AJ: (excitedly) "YEA! And I won't even throw up!"
I wish I felt the same way...ugh...

Journey of a Wise Man
This year AJ is finally old enough to really be getting into Christmas. He asks at least twice a day if it is Christmas Eve yet.
He is particularly infatuated with our Nativity set. The figures stand about 18" tall and include Mary, Joseph, Jesus, 3 Kings, a Shepherd, a Donkey and a Camel. AJ is very concerned about what happened to the shepherd's sheep...he even went and grabbed his Little People sheep from his Fisher Price barn to place with the shepherd. Hubby came out the next morning and wanted to know why there was a tiny sheep in his nativity scene. AJ explained that the shepherd needed something to watch.
I got to go on the journey of the wise men... AJ wanted to pretend to be a wise man and bring a present to Baby Jesus. He picked up his drum, handed me a toy and pointed us toward the other end of the house. Using the overhead light from the living room as a star, we followed the light through the entire house until we got to the nativity set under the tree. AJ knelt down and started playing "rum pum pum pum" on his drum for Baby Jesus.
It was one of the cutest things I had ever seen him do. And even more special because it was so spontaneous. When you ask him what Christmas is about, he doesn't hesitate to tell you it's about Baby Jesus...I've got a pretty cool kid.
